THE

FESTIVAL

What is Film by the Sea?

Film by the Sea (FBTS) is a film festival that showcases short films produced by and starring primary school aged students across the Sutherland Shire, Sydney.

An annual event beginning in 2011, dedicated teachers facilitate the production of these student-led short films which has led to the festivals success spreading to many more festivals across NSW.

These teachers firmly believe in the positive, educational benefits gained from teaching film and film studies. Studying and creating films also encourages problem solving, critical and creative thinking as well as collaboration and cooperation.
